NearFar Productions is a Puppet Company. We simply love puppets. We love them for their funny looks, zany humor, and classic feel. We believe that the world needs quality puppetry in it's media, and so, we've decided to make it our business to do just that.
Following the inspiration of Jim Henson and his Muppets, NearFar's mission is to bring quality puppetry and entertainment to the media, whether it be in the form of Commerials, TV Shows, Online Videos, Live Performance, or anything else! As long as it involves puppets!

NearFar Productions really began back in 2006 by two guys in a small HighSchool Office room, who decided it would be funny if they recorded Beatles Parody songs. Under the Beatle-Esque names Jack Rennon and Greg Harrissburg, the created a few albums that were, well, honestly, pretty much terrible. Seriously! Don't ever listen to them! And for goodness sakes, don't click on that link!
Anyways, Jack and Greg knew that their music probably wasn't going to get them anywhere, except maybe the unemployment office, and so they decided they needed something new! The turned to the one thing that they knew was really important in life. Puppetrey!
Yes, it was Puppets for these lads! They found a plain looking puppet, threw an old lady wig on him, called him "Skippy", and got to work! They filmed a series of short films in early 2007, where Skippy told short stories and fairy tales. They put them on YouTube, just to see what would happen. Much too their surprise, people liked it! So they began to make more! And thus, SkippyShorts was born!
The NearFar boys worked on SkippyShorts all through the year, and in that time they ended up not only getting a internet fan following, but also dealt with the likes of HollyWood producers, and T.V. Show runners as well, who were interested in their work! They even struck up a few deals!
Now, they are continuing to produce SkippyShorts, as well as working on the pre-production stages of a full-length movie, as well doing some puppet video work for a few companies, such as Capital Window. They are also developing some Educational movies for teachers to use in schools a lesson aides.
SkippyShorts plans to continue expanding and doing major work!
